What is the difference between formal and informal communication?

the difference is that formal communication is where you speak very professionally. Like you would talk to the queen or prime minister or your boss.

informal communication is how you would speak to your friends like:: ""hey yo mate! hows it hanging?!""

but when you speak formally it would be more like::

""Good Evening, Sir/madam. how are you this fine evening?""
