A goal is an overall objective, where a strategy is how you plan to get there. In other words, your goal may be to achieve a career as a lawyer. Your strategy is how you are going to go about achieving it (going to college, picking the best major for the specially you want within the field, acquiring good academic achievement, putting your educational finances in order, applying to grad school etc. Sometimes you need strategies to overcome obstacles. It also involves risk management etc. It's kind of developing a road-map that leads to your overall goal.

Goals in education especially in teaching is represented by the objectives. The objectives of the lesson are being identified first in lesson planning. Then, on how to present and execute the lesson is referred to us as strategies. strategies should be applied in accordance to the level of understandings of the pupils. Sound strategies enable the students to be attentive in all aspects and finally attain the goal or objectives of the lesson (topic).
