Why don't we refer to Wikipedia on this one? The difference may be made between casseroles and stews by considering that stewing is a cooking process whereby heat is applied to the bottom of the cooking vessel (typically over a fire or on a hob), whereas casseroling is done in an oven where heat circulates all round the cooking vessel. braising is cooking at a low heat for a very long period of time, so braised beef is usually cooked at low temperature for between 6 to 8 hours. This makes the meat very tender so it practically falls apart. Stewing can be done in an hour to 2 hours.

Stew is usually cooked slowly, below boiling, in one of a variety of liquids, often water or stock, but also in beer or other more exotic juices. Soup, on the other hand, is often boiled. As a result, the tastes of the various ingredients in stew often blend better than of those in soup.
soup is just a few ingredients i.e tomato soup....and chicken soup...and stew is something that contains many ingredients such as potato's beef carrots onions and a wide arrange of spices and its liquid is the broth of the choice of meat you use

Braising and stewing are both moist heat methods of cooking. However, stewing typically involves uniform pieces of meat (or vegetable) that is covered by liquid where braising has a large piece of meat that has liquid covering 1/2 or more of the item, but it's not covered by liquid.

Braising is first searing the meat, and then letting it simmer on low heat while partially covered in liquid. The main difference with stewing is that it is cooked in enough liquid to cover, and is not necessarily browned first.

Stewing is braising. Typically, we say "stewing" when the meat is cut into chunks, and "braising" when it's left in a whole, large piece--like pot roast.
