Actually, there is a big difference. Storage device refers to the apparatus for recording computer data. Examples are the RAM, floppy drives, ZIP drives, and other disks drives. While, storage media are the materials on which data are written and stored. Examples are the floppy disks, optical discs, hard disks, etc.

Users can store data and information to storage media via a storage device. It is a physical device that enables communication between the storage device and the storage media, to put it another way. Items that store data are known as storage medium. Storage media can occasionally be removed, as with CDs and DVDs.

Storage devices are almost always some kind of internal storage method. Hard drives, solid state disks, Ram Disks.

A storage medium refers to how it's stored. Such as a burned CD-RW disk or a DVD-R or perhaps even a flash drive. All of those could be considered storage mediums.
