The difference between them is that the spanish had guns and billion dollars worth of ruins that they stole from the Incas and the Aztec only had bows and arrows and they traded to buy foods and everything.

Along with the Spanish conquistadors "conquerors" came missionaries, in an attempt to convert the Aztecs. Not long after the the Spanish arrived, the Aztec population was reduced to 10%. Simply put, the Aztecs were no match for the Spanish.
