The pyramid contains the treasures and body of the pharaoh. No one else is allowed in.

The temple is filled with priests and priestesses.

A pyramid is pyramid shaped, a tomb is not.

A sarcophagus is an ornate, decorative coffin that goes into a tomb. A tomb is where the coffin or sarcophagus is placed inside. King Tut is one of the best popularly known examples of burial in a sarcophagus, though these were used throughout ancient Middle East countries.

Today, the coffin-tomb example would any type coffin --from wood to steel placed in a mausoleums (above ground tomb, which looks like a small one-room "house" without windows that open; only decorative or stained glass windows). Mausoleums also have vents near the eaves.

Mastaba is a freestanding and rectangular tomb used by the ancient Egyptians while pyramid is a tomb for pharaohs which is triangular in shape.
