What is the difference between urologist and gastroenterologist?
blood in my urine. can I see my gastroenterologist or go to a urologist?
A gastroenterologist focuses on disorders in the digestive system, which includes all of the organs from the mouth, the stomach, the intestines, and the anus. A proctologist is a specialist who performs surgery exclusively on the rectum, anus, and colon, without focusing on any other organs in the human body.
A urologist is surgery subspecialist who operates on the urinary tract, kidneys, prostate, bladder, etc. They also manage nonsurgical problems of the urinary tract such as infections, overactive bladder, etc. A nephrologist is a specialty of internal medicine who takes care of medical diseases of the kidneys such as nephritis, failing kidneys. Also they run dialysis. Similar to the difference between a cardiac surgeon and a cardiologist.
An attorney is an attorney, no matter what. That said, attorneys, like doctors, specialize in certain types of law. Distinguishing these two kinds of attorneys is like asking what the difference is between a urologist and a nephrologist. Did you know there are even specialized physicians within a certain field? Example, surgical ophthalmology vs. neuro-ophthalmology. This is also true of attorneys.
There are various types of Specialists in Medicine. They have various titles depending upon the Speciality they work viz General Physician, General Surgeon, Chest or Respiratory Physician, Cardiologist, Gastroenterologist, Neuro Physician / Surgeon, Paediatrician, Gynaecologist & obstetrician, Nephrologist, Urologist, Endrocrinologist, Pathologist, Radiologist, Radiotherapist, Orthopaedic Surgeon etc.........
