The fundamental difference between errors and violations is that violations are deliberate, whereas errors are not. In other words, committing a violation is a conscious decision, whereas errors occur irrespective of one's will to avoid them.

violation is an intentional act against any set social,religious or legal principles,rules,doctrines or law that invites punishment/fines.

Error is an unintentional act by over sight.

An error means you did something wrong and did not hurt someone but violation could hurt you the other person or perhaps both of you.
