Osmosis

Osmosis is not the same as diffusion of water. Diffusion of water is just diffusion like with any other substance: the particles spreading, making a homogeneous distribution. Osmosis involves a semipermeabel membrane, where water goes from low solvent concentration to high solvent concentration.
