What is the differnce between a cable modem and a DSL modem?
When using DSL to connect to the Internet the data transmission shares the cabling with what other technology?
What are the different types of DSL technology?
The most popular DSL service that is used at most homes is Asymmetric DSL. Basically this means there is more bandwidth for downloading then uploading. Businesses tend to use Summetric DSL because this just evens out the bandwidth for uploading and downloading to be the same so that all functions are equally available. IDSL is a hybrid DSL / ISDN technology developed but rarely used nowadays due to its relatively low speed.

Is high speed satellite internet the same as DSL?
No, because the DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is a technology of access to broadband internet through to connected copper cables that it takes the conventional telephone line, the disadvantage of this technology is that the line since the home or office until the Central telephone office not surpass 5.5 km.
Full form of dsl?
DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line and it is a name given to the communication technology using PSTN telephone copper wire. In this digital signals from digital computers are converted into analog form by DSL modem and transmitted via copper lines and at the receiver a demodulator transforms it back to digital form(binary).
What are the advantages of DSL Internet Services?
Some of the advanttages of DSL are that DSL is available in many rural areas where cable is not yet offered and it is far faster that dial up.Dsl is also cheaper than satellite ,frees up your land line phone and comes with High bandwidth Some advantages of DSL Internet Services are: High bandwidth; Cheap line charges; easy telecommuting because DSL will easily interface with ATM, Nx64, and WAN technology; security; services independent of other telecommunications and more

Is cable internet service faster than dsl?
In most cases, yes, cable internet service is faster than DSL. DSL does have known bandwidth limitations that are lower than cable connections, theoretically. Most companies offering DSL utilize ADSL or SDSL technology which has limitation of download transmission of 10 MBPS whereas cable can deliver top speeds of 30 MBPS, depending on traffic and the service subscribed to.

What is DSL and ADSL?
DSL=Digital Subscriber Line- A dedicated WAN technology that uses advanced data modulation techniques at the physical layer to achieve extraordinary throughput over regular phone lines. DSL comes in several different varieties, the most common of which is asymmetric DSL (ADSL). ADSL=Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line Both are DSL but DSL or symmetric DSL has the same throughput(or how much data can be sent/received) Asymmetric DSL has more data that can be received over sent, for use on the commercial level mostly(for video streaming and such) Is used by the consumer who isn't sending large amounts of data, such as if the user was a VIDEO HOST and would need to send all that data quickly to stream it. -SeT84-
