Why do you mentioning the boiler pressure in 'ata'?

Normal atmospheric pressure is abbreviated as atm. But when computing for the amount of total pressure exerted on an object at a specific depth or elevation, including normal atmospheric pressure, then the abbreviation ata is used. It stands for atmospheric pressure absolute.

What is the difference between leveling and surveying?

Surveying measures angles and distances, usually in three dimensions. Leveling only meaures the elevation change between two or more points. One of the crudest leveling instruments is simply a hose filled with water. If the two ends of the hose are held at the same height, no water flows out. If one end is lower, the water flows out that end.

How can I calculate azimuth and elevation of the sun or how to find out the position of sun using azimuth and elevation and also is UT differ to be used or current time UT to be used?

It would be useful, almost required to get some sort of Nautical Almanac, which some of the larger Libraries have. Textbooks on astronomical navigation (a.k.a. celestial) would also come in handy as might Corps of Engineers technical manuals on such things as the Vertical axis Theodolite- a most versatile instrument. Get a Nautical al manac, not the farmer"s or News summary types! Good Luck, Galileo Jr! The astrolabe or sextant was designed to perform said measurements. GPS is common, cheap and easy to use, and it has displaced the units. These tools of navigation are now inexpensive and easy to come by. (Kind of like slide rules after electronic calculators became common.) A look on eBay will probably reveal several different units in a range of prices. Use the link to the Wikipedia article on the sextant and see what it can do. To calculate the precise location of the sun, see the following site: http://www.astro.uio.no/~bgranslo/aares/calculate.html For an on-line calculator in JavaScript check here: http://www.learn.londonmet.ac.uk/packages/daymedia/axel/sky/sunpath_calc.html
