Apart from some homosexual or transvestite fantasies. the first ( based on a historical case) film dealing with this was the Christine Jorgenson story- made many years after the event , it was out in the early seventies. That is the only one about a sex-change operation that made the big screen.

A new one on me. There was a movie made in the thirties that had the basic plot idea of a man posing as a woman, essentially to avoid the draft. There was a sub-plot about some kind of martial musical band. I saw a stage adaptation of this in l964 as part of, of all things, a St.Patrick"s day pageant at a church school . I couldn"t understand the plot, so was quite bemused by the Theatrical Strobe lights which were follow-spots and naturally used green-filtered lens for the seasonal touch. I seem to recall the Play"s title was Where"s Charley? This has nothing to do with Charlie the Tuna of Star-Kist fame.
