If I am not mistaken it's the easiest to remember 1234. That is the 79 and it's usually standard for the same bikes with different years to have the same firing order
Might fit, but will not work. The difference is the 79 uses an external voltage regulator the 91 has an inenal voltage regulator
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Go to a salvage yard and look for a 73-79 ford pickup equipped with a 460. You need to remove the engine mount perches that are bolted to the frame, this will allow the engine to sit perfectly in your truck. The frames from 65-79 are very similar this is why you can swap the perches and have a factory looking engine swap in your '65. Dont forget if your truck is 2wd you need perches from a 2wd donor.
I have a 1993 f-250 with a 460 in it and the rated HP is 245. I believe that the 460 has been in that area of hp output for many years. Also, My truck has electronic fuel injection - so, if yours is carbuerated then it would be slightly less. According to the specs page in the Chilton's manual, ford pickups w/460 v-8s in '79 were rated at 239 HP@ 4000 rpm and 375 Lb-ft torque @2400 rpm stock. Of course, vans will be slightly less (crummy exhaust), and F350's slightly more (no emissions equipment). - hughes 1701
