What is the flight path from Johannesburg to New York?

South African airways provides one direct flight from Johannesburg to New York and vice versa. This flight requires a stop over in Dakar for refueling, but there is no plane change and the stop is usually less than an hour.
In addition, South African airways provides a direct flight from Jo'burg to Washington, DC (also with the Dakar pit stop).
I add the this pit stop in dakar is due , as Patrick Smith mentionned in his book , to the fact that johanessburg is at some elevation , so a long distance for takeoff is needed for a fully loaded aircraft, hence breaking the flight in two trips to refuel in dakar.
