What is the ideal degree of slope of a vehicle ramp?

Taking a thin length of wood or similar, place end of wood to the front inside of the front tyre where it meets the floor. Lift wood until it is just below bottom of front skirt or whatever is the lowest point on the vehicle in front of the wheel. Hold in this position and measure the angle of the bottom of the wood to the floor. This is done at the front inside of the tyre. Calculate height required and length required of ramp to maintain this angle. This is the ideal slope for the ramp.

What is FIFO approach?

FIFO is the acronym for First In First Out, which means Use (or do) the Oldest Stuff First, or use things in the order of their arrival. Two common contexts for this are in accounting and computing. FIFO is also used in inventory and in stocking shelves where the items that are received first should be used first and old items are shelved in front and new items in the back. It is a materials management technique in Warehousing, Fruit & Vegetable stores, Butcher shops, etc. and handling incoming mail in offices. It is all about making sure things flow through a system properly, where older items are used before items that have just come in. Technically, FIFO is a means of describing a queue-like data sequence, where insertions (push operations) occur at the end of the sequence and extractions (pop operations) occur at the beginning of the sequence. As opposed to a LIFO (last-in, first-out) sequence where all pushes and pops occur at the end of the sequence, thus creating a stack-like data sequence. LIFO can also be called FILO (first-in, last-out), which means the same thing. In other words, with FIFO, we pop objects off the sequence in the same order they were pushed onto it, but with LIFO/FILO we pop objects in the reverse order they were pushed.

Why is the operation pop in the data structure stack called pop?

It stems from the analogy of a plate-stacker. That is; a recessed pit with a spring-loaded platform that pushes upwards. As plates are stacked onto the platform, the spring is compressed by the weight of the plates, pushing the platform down into the pit so only the top plate protrudes from the pit. When the top plate is removed, the stack pops up to expose the next plate. The push and pop verbs apply to all linear sequence containers where a new element can be added at the front and/or back ends of the sequence, such as arrays/vectors, lists, queues and stacks.

How do you remove an embedded backing of an earring inside your earlobe?

Ice the front and back of the ear lobe to reduce the swelling which will allow the removal of the back of the earring. If this does not enable removal, then the skin may have grown around the backing and removal under local anesthesia may be required by a physician.

What do you do if you have a child in the front seat and there is airbags?

Disable the passenger-size airbag. If there is no way to disable the passenger airbag, the only safe thing is to belt them in the back seat -- which is safer, and required by law in most states anyway.

How can you make sure the passenger air bag is always on on your 2004 Liberty?

The front passenger seat has a sensor built into it and is always on unless a weight between 9 and 45lbs (maybe slightly different) is placed on the seat. This is in case you put a child safety seat on the front passenger seat so as not to deploy the airbag in a collision. The sensor is also intelligent and will vary the deployment depending on how heavy the front passenger is so as to minimize any injury the airbag could cause.

If a 2000 Elantra airbags are deployed and seat belts are locked how do you replace the seatbelts and will the seatbelts work if airbag light is still on?

Replacing the seatbelts involves removing several interior trim panels, unfortunately almost all of them, starting from the front. If the seatbelt will no longer retract, it is non-functioning and needs replacement. Seat belts should ALWAYS be replaced after an accident involving airbag deployment. The airbag light is telling you the dealer or a qualified mechanic needs to do some slightly dangerous work replacing the airbags and the airbag controller.
