The function of the genetic material is to store the information needed by the cell to make proteins. Why only proteins? One reason is that a very important class of molecules - the enzymes - are proteins. By making enzymes, which catalyse all reactions in the cell, the cell is able to control which reactions take place and how fast they happen. For example, red blood cells (before they lose their nucleus) need to make the red oxygen-carrying pigment called haemoglobin. The red cell will use the instructions in the genetic material (DNA) to make the enzymes needed to make haemoglobin. Other cells will make different enzymes to male other substances. http://www.angelfire.com/clone2/nucleic_acids/functions.htm http://www.dnaftb.org/dnaftb/16/concept/index.html
Gennetics is your hair to your toes , from your being male to being female , from being tall to short and even fat or lean (the no of adipose (fat storind cells)cells in your body is determined by genetics ,the answer goes on and on
Genetic material is inside a virus and it helps make new viruses which then spread in your body
It serves as a sort of blue print.. it contains all the information needed to create any protein in the body
DNA consists of four types of nucleotides arranged in a double helix. DNA contains chemical information pertaining to the cell it is a part of, and that cell's functions.
The genetic material is a "program" (analogous to a computer program) that tells the cell how to do everything it does, from absorbing food, to moving around, even to when to die.
The genetic material of eukaryotic cells is organized in chromosomes. The genetic material of a cell contains information needed for the cells' growth and other activities. When a cell divides into 2 new cells, each new cell receives a full set of genetic material. The genetic material in cells is contained in DNA molecules. Source: "Cells and Heredity" (Biology book)
The genetic material of an animal cell is located in the nucleus- this contains the chromosomal DNA of the cell

Which structure contains a eukaryotic cells genetic material
The egg cell for females (contains genetic material) and the sperm cell for males (carries genetic material to the egg cell).
The genetic material in a bacteria cell is found in the cytoplasm.
The genetic material is in the cytoplasm.
The genetic material is in the cytoplasm.
Genetic material is found in the nucleus.
The genetic material of the cell is found in the nucleus. This material (DNA) can reproduce inside the cell by a process known as replication.
Sexual reproduction increases the genetic material of a cell.
