Oligodendrocytes are a type of glial (supporting) cell in the brain that sends out cytoplasmic extensions to insulate axons in the central nervous system. This allows for greater speeds of nervous impulses between the brain and a sensory receptor or between two neurons ("brain" cells).
Oligodendrocytes form insulating covers around the axons in the central nervous system. This allows for faster signal propogation, and helps to prevent the signal from jumping to unintended neurons.
Oligodendrocytes are closely associated with the axon of neurons and stimulates the production of myelin in the brain and spinal cord.
These neuroglial cells of the CNS form the insulation of the axons exclusively in the CNS
To produce insulating coverings called myelin sheaths around the thicker neuron fibers in the CNS.
They secrete the myelin sheath that surounds the neuronal axons inside the CNS
True
Astrocyte, Microglia and Oligodendrocyte
Yes. The certain glial cells (schwann cells in PNS and oligodendrocyte in the CNS) insulates the neuron's by producing myelin which covers the axon to speed up the action potential.
what is palisades job in photosynthesis
This is a good job because there are plenty of positions. This is an ever changing job with lots of room for growth.
their job is to be gay! their job is to be gay!

Oligodendrocyte
Oligodendrocyte; processes of the oligodendrocytes form the myelin sheaths around the CNS nerve fibers
Except Oligodendrocytes, because oligodendrocyte, cannot be degenerate.

Oligodendrocyte
Nicotine stimulates CREB phosphorylation which regulates the expression of myelin basic protein and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein.
they are two types of glia cells. oligodendrocytes are responsible for the myelination of neurons in the central nervous system. swan cells perform the same function but in the peripheral nervous system.
