There are four ways to find a ratio.
1 A dealer can normally tell from the vin number.
2 There are normally tags or labels on the axle that have part number, gear ratio, and fluid requirement
info.
3 You can count how many times you have to turn the driveshaft to get one complete turn of the tires.
4 You can divide the number of teeth on the ring gear and divide by number of teeth on the pinion.

To check the rear axle ratio on your Suburban, you need to safely jack up the vehicle to get access to the the rear axle. Then there should be a metal tag on one of the bolts on the rear axle cover indicating the axle ratio. The ratio varies with different options and load capacities, so it's not the same for all Suburban's.
look on the bottom of the axle...and there should be a metal tag saying what size and ratio that axle is

The Chevrolet suburban 1500 axle is interchangeable with the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 axle. The manufacture year of the vehicles should be the same.

That would depend on what the axle code is ( the axle code can be found on an information sticker on the end of the drivers door or perhaps the latching pillar )

Depends on each individual truck. Look in your glovebox....there is a label from the factory with parts codes on it. The one with G refers to your gear ratio/ ring & pinion.
