The name of hard carbon is Diamond. If you are speaking of coal then it would anthracite. Carbon has another allotropic form which is graphite.

∙ 13y agoIt depends on the allotrope of Carbon you choose. Diamond is the hardest substance known with a hardness of 10 while graphite only has a hardness of 1-2 on the hardness scale.
