I have a 1993 f-250 with a 460 in it and the rated HP is 245. I believe that the 460 has been in that area of hp output for many years. Also, My truck has electronic fuel injection - so, if yours is carbuerated then it would be slightly less. According to the specs page in the Chilton's manual, Ford pickups w/460 v-8s in '79 were rated at 239 HP@ 4000 rpm and 375 Lb-ft torque @2400 rpm stock. Of course, vans will be slightly less (crummy exhaust), and F350's slightly more (no emissions equipment). - hughes 1701
