Why is barter important?

In barter economy, commodities were exchanged in the market. It was before the evolution of currency system that barter economy existed. Even today, in remote rural areas of India, the barter system still exists.

when barter system was not introduced people can only use the things which they can produce themselves. like a fisher near a sea can only eat fish he can never enjoy the other blessings of God. but after barter system exchange of goods with other goods become possible it was considered the best system ever at that time. As long as men made progress he thought that barter system has many drawbacks. E.g.,lack of common value .if person A has meat & person B has wheat that mean that these two things have not a common standard value so the barter system was spoiled after some invention in economics.
