It is not only good to dream, but numerous studies have shown that if you are deprived of dreaming that you could die. Dreaming, or REM, has been shown through scientific studies to be essential to our mental health, though they have not found the actual mechanism at work. Even if you don't remember that you had dreams in the night, when you wake up in the morning... there is no negative effect on your body, You can dream, REM, and not be aware of it, yet still get all the benefits from it.
Another thing to consider is that we repair our bodies in stage four sleep, which just precedes REM. So, in other words, if you are dreaming, it meas your body has had a chance to heal itself and get closer to attaining balance.
I believe dreams are important. They take you to a different place, they make you think about things, they make you lose yourself to your imagination. They also can have different meanings. Like falling or tripping probably means you failed at something. Going up in front of an audience naked or going to school and find out that you forgot an important piece of clothing means your nervous about something. Dreams help you see yourself for who you are, it shows you that there's a part of your mind, no matter how old you get, that still has a little bit of child imagery in it. Or they can help you figure out a memory you've forgotten or a bad time you need to remember to let it go. Dreams tell you how you feel, how much imagination you have, and other things. I've been having dreams that involve this mysterious figure and he shows me that i must want something exciting, romantic, and mysterious to come my way. As I pondered on that I realized I am bored with my life style and I want a change. Listen and remember your dreams and talk to someone about them. Especially if you thought them important when you first woke up ir if their reaccuring. Chances are they may be trying to show you something that has been stuck in the corner of your mind for a while. Dreams are important but that's just my opinion.
If referring to dreams that occur during sleep... dreams are vital to emotional and physical wellbeing because they provide a safe outlet of expression for emotional stress and tension. Dreams also may play a part in the sorting, imprinting and storing of memories. When research subjects are prevented from dreaming for prolonged periods, they become emotionally and physically distressed and unbalanced.
If referring to dreams in the sense of hopes and aspirations... dreams provide direction and motivation to move ahead in life, to develop personal strength and accomplish significant goals without losing a sense of purpose or focus.
They are important because they show what your subconsciousness is feeling. They show what you feel deep inside, not just the things that you convince yourself your feeling, but what your really feeling
Dreams help you sort out unresolved issues that you have throughout the day. They also shed light on those underlying issues that bottle up inside you. Often, they can prepare you for the oncoming day as well.
Dreams are really very important. Dreams are what we see when we don't have the thing which we really want in our lives. We can see dreams anywhere anytime. We can go to a World Tour in our dreams.
Dreams express your inner thoughts and feelings, combined with memory and intuition. Some dreams release pent up stress from anger while others provide illustrations of your fears and anxieties. Occasionally, dreams draw connections from bits and pieces of information to forecast possible outcomes; these are the type of dreams that appear to predict the future. For more information on the function of dreams, see the link attached below.
Dreams act as a mental and emotional release valve, relieving tension that builds up during the normal stress of life. This function is very important for physical, emotional and mental health. Dreams also bring suppressed feelings and hidden thoughts to conscious awareness, reveal areas of weakness in the self and occasionally point out the obvious consequences of overlooked trends.
Dreaming is the balance of the conscious mind. We try to balance non-reality with our reality world.
