I have a double barrel over under 20 gauge savage arms model 420. I know absolutely nothing about this shotgun except that it shoots great. I am currently researching faqs right now and if i come up with anything i will let you know...hopefully if you hear something you will do the same..I once had a gunsmith tell me that it was worth 6 to 8 hundred dollars..whether or not this is true i do not know...thanks Bryan emsdadbr@yahoo.com where can i find the price of model420 savage shotgun February 28, 2009 The Savage Arms Corporation of Utica, NY and Westfield, MA was established in 1894 by Arthur W Savage, this company has manufacture a wide variety of firearms, of which its Model 99 is the best known. By 1915, Savage arms was manufacturing center fire and rim fire rifles, pistols, and ammunition. During Wold War I the company produced the Lewis machine guns. In 1920 Savage purchased J. Stevens Arms Company which was associated with Harry Pope, the famous barrel maker. Later in the 1920s the company acquired the Page Lewis Company, Davis-Warner, Crescent Firearms, and A H Fox. At one time Savage was the largest firearms manufacturing company in the free world. During World War II Savage/Stevens produced military small arms and machine guns. In 1947 the Sporting Arms division moved to Chicopee Falls, MA. where it was incorporated into Stevens Arms Company.
