First of all be honest about which vehicle she will be most likely to drive. Usually the lowest rate is going to be on a vehicle that you don't need Comp and Collision coverage for. Hopefully she qualifies for a good student discount and a drivers training discount.

Auto insurance prices for young drivers are based on many factors. Is the driver a male or female, does the driver have good grades, does the driver live in a city or out in a rural area. All of these are factors in determining insurance rates. For the lowest cost, a young driver would probably do best to try to get insurance through their parent's insurance bundle.

Young drivers can face a tough time in finding cheap auto insurance. Drivers under the age of 25 have to effectively prove they can drive carefully on the road before insurance providers will decrease the cost of insurance for them. There are many factors that work to increase the price young drivers pay for car insurance. Some of these factors a young driver has no control over. For example, an insurance company considers a young driver's history of driving in creating an insurance rate. A young driver may have no history at all, which automatically means the insurance company has to charge high fees for its policy. In addition, the location in which a young driver lives may affect his or her insurance policy rate. If a young driver lives in a large city with congested traffic, then it is likely his or her insurance rate will go up. These are just a couple of the extraneous factors insurance companies use to determine insurance rates for young drivers. A few more factors will work to determine a young driver's insurance rate. A young driver's gender always plays into role in determining the insurance rates. Young female drivers are more likely to be cautious and get into fewer accidents on the road. Because of this, young female drivers enjoy decreased insurance rates. Male young drivers will have to pay higher insurance rates. This is the other factor that a young driver has no control over and is charged increased insurance rates for. To cut costs as much as possible, there are a couple factors young drivers can control. The type of vehicle a young driver uses will have an effect on an insurance rate. Sports cars and red cars often affect an insurance policy by increasing its rates. Cars that are flashy have a greater chance of being vandalized or hit on the road. A young driver should choose an economical and basic car for low insurance rates. Another way to cut costs is to get good grades in school. If a young driver maintains a grade point average above a 3.0, many insurance carriers will forward a "good student" discount to the young driver. Having a short commute from home to school is another factor one can use to negotiate a lower insurance rate.

The common stereotypes about female drivers are that they aren't very good at driving, they drive too slow, with their body over the steer wheel, that they use their brakes often. Stereotypes about female drivers assume that women can't take care of their own cars, and even buy a car.

User Avatar

there is no one answer for this. the best I can suggest is to get quotes from insurance agencies who will ask where you live if your male/female any prior accidents etc. then go with the least expensive you can find.

There are many laws in place both federally and in the state of Pennsylvania that have developed to prevent discrimination based on the gender of an individual. Insurance companies do not really discriminate, however, since they create policies based on the statistical analysis of data. This data breaks down the various traits of different drivers and then aggregates the traits to construct risk-based profiles of drivers who might be in more accidents than others. One of the points that this data has shown is that women drivers are less likely to be involved in accidents than male drivers. The result is that a woman driver in Pennsylvania is more likely to receive a lower initial insurance rate than a man. Even though women are statistically less likely to be in an accident than men, it is not the only consideration that an insurance company makes when determining the cost of a car insurance policy. Female drivers who own expensive sports cars will receive the same increased premiums as men would. This is also true for their geographic location, mileage driven each day and previous driving record. Ultimately, there are many women drivers in Pennsylvania who pay a far higher monthly premium than many men because of their driving habits. Women drivers have an advantage over men when it comes to their age. For new and teenage drivers, women tend to have their base auto insurance rates reduced more quickly than men. Insurance for women begins to drop when they turn 21, where as men do not usually see a reduction until they have reached age 25. As drivers age, women are able to maintain a lower monthly premium when compared to men for a longer time, sometimes for as long as 10 years more. Still, this only affects the base insurance prices which are then modified by a host of other factors that are individual to each driver. Despite the discounts that women gain over men when it comes to the cost of car insurance in Pennsylvania, there are some peripheral problems that can reduce or remove this benefit. One is that there are still some insurance agents who can make the process of acquiring insurance confusing or difficult for women. This can lead a female driver to sign up for a policy that is not in her best interest, or that provides coverage beyond what is necessary.
