look i am deeply in love with someone called Sam but he's 18 and im 13, he make me laugh and would never hurt me but apparently its e legal for us to be together but why can someone please comment one this saying what the legal age for a real relationship in the UK/united kingdom :P

p.s) if your in love then why does someone have to wreck it !

For a real relationship, which includes sex, you have to be 16yo. Or he will be arrested for statutory rape. And sexual activity is not neccesarily intercourse but can be heavy petting, oral sex and other sexual activities.

Just dating is not regulated, it's up to the parents to decide. The parents can of course get a restraining order against him.

You only speak of how you feel though and not about how he feels. I'm sure he is very aware of the age difference and the risks he would take. At your age girls always fall for older guys but at this age the difference is very big. The reason the laws are there is to protect the child. Love doesn't exactly make people see clearer and make better decisions, quite the opposite.

Both the bride and the groom must be over 16 years of age to marry. If either is under 18 and is previously unmarried, the formal legal consent of either parent or guardian is required.

However since engagement carries no legal force you could get engaged at any age.

16 with parental consent and 18 without. In practice, very few people get married at this age.
