Cougars (Puma concolor) have litters of one to six kittens; the average is three or four.

Cougars are polygynous -- males reproduce with multiple females -- and females have kittens approximately every other year; there is no definite "mating season." The kittens' birth weight is between 226 and 453 grams (8-16 ounces), and they do not see, hear, play or grow teeth for ten days after birth. They continue to breastfeed for about 40 days, and will remain with their mother for about 15 months before dispersing.

Cheetah's mate and reproduce all year round. They don't have any mating season as such. After a gestation period of around 90 to 98 days, a female give birth to a litter of upto 9 cubs. But, the average litter size is between 3 to 5 cubs. The cubs weigh an average of 150 to 300 grams at birth and stay with the mother for approximately 2 years. During this period, the mother protects her cubs and feeds them.
