The function of nucleic acids is highly important in many aspects of the human body. For example, the DNA (Deoxy-Ribonucleic Acid) of living things is composed of nucleotides, sugars, and phosphates, which are bonded together in a helix, forming a nucleic acid chain, which is further complementary base-paired with another nucleic acid, forming a double helical structure of the DNA. Through this structure of nucleic acids, the DNA in our body allows us to express or not express traits that are inherited from the parents. These traits are very important in expressing the uniqueness of each person, and can even determine our ability to survive in the changing environments. DNA studies can also be used in forensic science to aid in crime scene investigations!
A nucleic acid is a macromolecule composed of nucleotide chains. In biochemistry these molecules carry genetic information or form structures within cells.
If there is a lack of nucleic acids in your body, you are unable to reproduce. Nucleic acids form the basis for the passing on of DNA.
Nucleic acids in the form of DNA and RNA control cellular function and heredity.
carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins
Nucleic acids
you cant have an RDA for nucleic acids because they are things like RNA and DNA and those are already in your body
Nucleic acids
RNA and DNA
The nucleic acid is a protein found in RNA and DNA to determine our genes . Edit: NUCLEIC ACIDS ARE NOT PROTEINS. Do they have amino groups? No. Are they made out of Amino acids? no. Nucleic acids are polymers which are also known as RNA and DNA. They contain all of the information of the body.
our body makes them on its own
rna and dna
Nucleic acids.
Organic molecules form proteins for the body.
