Sugers The body stores its energy in the simplest molecules derived from the consumed food. Carbohydrates are broken down into their simple form, glucose. The glucose is released into the blood stream where it can be converted immediately to energy in the cells where it is needed through a multi-step process known as glycolysis. Extra glucose that isn't needed is converted to glycogen and stored in the liver and muscle tissues. When blood glucose levels drop below the optimal level (as glucose is used up), the liver converts the glycogen back to glucose and releases it into the blood stream.

Energy is stored in long strands around small proteins. Usually the energy is from sugar; Glucose is the easiest to burn. If excess sugar is consumed it is attached to fat cells for long-term storage. Burning too much energy and then eating not enough puts your body into 'starvation mode' which actually makes you gain weight.

Warning: Fructose is sweeter than glucose and is present in all fruit and now also in most sweet substances. If Fructose is consumed in large quantities the body cannot process it properly. This means that it accumulates and begins to poison the body. Moderation is always the best thing!

When you eat food, your body breaks it down and keeps the energy in your cells. That's why when you eat a lot of sugar, you get really jumpy Hope this helps
