What is the minimum wage for a vet assistant?
Legally the minimum wage for veterinarians is the same as for every other job: in the United States, the federal minimum wage is currently (as of May 2013) $7.25/hour. In practical terms, however, veterinarians are worth a lot more than minimum wage. A veterinarian working in private practice tends to make at least $45,000 per year the first year out of vet school, which translates to ~$21/hour. The veterinarian's wage tends to increase from there.
