Drug dependence is substance addiction which is the physical and/or psychological need for a drug. When using drugs becomes the focus of a person's life and interferes with his or her ability to cope without the drug, dependence is likely. A dependency on drugs tends to involve the user associating with other drug abusers as well as behavioral and health changes. When an addict tries to stop using the substance, withdrawal symptoms result, so treatment is usually done gradually with medical supervision.
It means you are dependent on a particular drug. It mean you are addicted and when you try not using that drug, you feel withdraw symptoms. You basically feel like 5hit and you almost need the drug again just to feel better.

You walk around in a daze and sometimes in physical pain because your body is craving that drug. Your body got used to existing with the drug so much that is became a part of you.

You feel sick not taking it. A constant sickness with no virus or bacterial infection to attack.

Don't do drugsBecause if you want to live you'll have to quit and quitting is fuucking H3LL.

What is the difference between craving drugs versus needing them?

There is a difference between drug addiction and drug dependanece, although they often go hand in hand. Drug addiction is a strong phsychological craving for a particular drug. Without it, the person is testy, irritable etc. Drug dependence is a physiological need for the drug, i.e. the person can get sick or even die from lack of the drug if there dependence is strong. For example, some alcoholics have astrong craving for a drink, but have not yet become physically dependent on alcohol. Others, however, are so dependent upon alacohol that they will experience tremors, seizures and possibly even death if they withdraw abrubtly.
