It's called the Small Intestine. It is the longest part of your digestive system. Through a muscular movement called peristalsis, food is squeezed through the small intestine. The nutrients from food are absorbed into your blood stream by microvillus, which are microscopic and line the intestine. Once the food has passed through the small intestine, all the important nutrients have been extracted so the left over food is passed on through the large intestine and later excreted.
