The mainland end of the Confederation Bridge is near the Nova Scotia border. The Woods Island ferry service runs between PEI and Nova Scotia as well. There is no direct connection between PEI and the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It would appear to be more likely that PEI would be trading with New Brunswick and Nova Scotia ahead of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Canada's only "island province," Prince Edward Island, is now connected to mainland Canada via the Confederation Bridge. The bridge, which was opened in 1997, is 13 kms long and spans the Northumberland Strait between Borden, PEI, and Jourimain, New Brunswick.
The Province of New Brunswick shares a border with the Canadian Provinces of Quebec (to the north) and Nova Scotia (to the south). New Brunswick also shares a border with the State of Maine to the west. Although the 13-kilometer-long Confederation Bridge links New Brunswick with the Province of Prince Edward Island (to the east), they do not actually share a border.
