There are no active hurricanes right now (August 19, 2011). There are currently 2 tropical storms in the Pacific: Fernanda and Greg. Although Greg did reach hurricane strength at one point, it never threatened land.

In the Atlantic Tropical Storm Harvey is threatening Central America, but is not expected to become a hurricane.

The answer to this question is constantly changing. Tropical storms are named in alphabetical order from a list of names that repeats every 6 years - with one caveat; when a particularly destructive hurricane hits, the name is retired and a new name is chosen to fill it's alphabetic spot in the 6-year lists.
