Hadrian's wall. Although Hadrian's wall is the most famous, there is/was another wall even further north than Hadrian's. It is the Antonine wall which runs across the middle of Scotland.
Hadrian caused it to be built, but he certainly didn't build it himself.

The things they built and left behind were used and built on ( the Tower of London sits on a Roman site) and all of us use of the items that the Romans invented or introduced to the world. They created cement and used the arch in building to name two.
