What are the differences between a hinge joint and a ball-and-socket joint?
A hinge joint allows bones to only move back and forth a ball and socket joint joint allows your arm to move in all directions. The ball and socket joint can rotate around. The hinge joint can only move up and down. Your ankle is a b&s joint, Your leg is a hinge joint. Ball-socket-joints allow your bones to have circular movement.
