Charles Alton Ellis was the man who designed it, and Joseph P. Strauss was the Chief Engineer, but the actual workers names are probably lost to history.
No, their is no one buried in the golden gate bridge.
Joseph B. Strauss built the bridge to finish what his father started. His father built the bridge so he could show that he was a bright man, and for the challenge. This is not an accurate answer. See discussion for more information.
The "Golden Gate" is a natural formation composed of rocks, vegetation, and the sea. It was named a long, long time ago by mariners sailing into San Francisco harbor. The rocks on either side of the bay entrance were orange-gold in color, and seemed almost mystical when the setting sun shone on them. Much, much later, engineers designed and built a bridge across the bay at that same location to connect San Francisco and Sausalito. It was the bridge over the Golden Gate, so of course it was named the, "Golden Gate Bridge". It is a titanic structure built of steel, concrete, and paint, of course.

A man named Roy Raymond, from San Francisco, was the founder/creator of Victoria's Secret. He ended up committing suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge.
No it's just a name.Answer: Okay opinionI have to respectfully disagree. The Golden Gate Bridge is a national treasure equal to the monuments of Washington DC, our side of Niagara Falls, the Great lakes, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks, The Denali and Rocky Mountain ranges, Mount Rushmore, the Gateway Arch, the Empire State Building, the memory of the Twin Towers, and a hundred other wonders natural and man made. These things help define who we are as Americans. They help to give this relatively young nation it's identity, its people their pride--or a visible part of it.The Golden Gate Bridge is a national treasure, and a personal treasure of mine, having been born in California and having seen it as a child.
