There's no one single World Heritage Site in Brazil. In fact, Brazil has 17 World Heritage Sites. Ten are cultural sites. Seven are natural sites. The capital city of Brasilia was inscribed as a cultural World Heritage in 1987. It's the only city built in the 20th century to be designated as a World Heritage Site.
In Mozambique, there is one world heritage site. It is called the Island of Mozambique. This cultural site is the fortified city of Mozambique which was a former Portuguese trading post on the route to India. It was given World Heritage status in 1991.

In 1983, the Taj Mahal was declared a World Heritage site. The greatness and uniqueness of this site are the source of the monument's importance, and so the reason it was designated a World Heritage site. The UNESCO organization says the Taj Mahal is "considered to be the greatest architectural achievement in the whole range of Indo-Islamic architecture", not only in appearance but in its construction and conception. Furthermore the Taj Mahal has maintained "integrity", in that it remains as authentic a piece of architecture as it was when first selected to be a World Heritage site.

This is a special committee of the United Nations, and specifically the United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which votes to determine which sites should receive this title. Only sites which are said to have enough special natural or cultural importance become World Heritage Sites.
