Basically if people are cutting down trees, there are no trees to absorb carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. This means that the CO2 produced by us humans is increasing in the atmosphere, adding to the greenhouse gases. So the more CO2 the more affects of global warming.

Plus, some organisms are losing their habitats, this is bad because this really affects the animals and can lead to slowing of biodiversity.

It increases the chances for erosion and increases the opportunity for early successional plants to grow
