What is the plastic water tube connecting the lower intake with the alernator bracket on a 97 Grand Prix GT 3.8L called?

this tube really serves no purpose in warmer climantes it was installed on some candian models to keep frost off the brackt to make good ground contact. I beleve it is called the alternator pre heater but am to sure.

Answer 2If you are reffering to the small 90 deg elbow (approx 5/8 dia) it is called a coolant elbow.

It would be a coolant elbow ( most likely what was known as a bypass hose) motormite makes it and it is readily availiable at most part stores, comes in a 2 pack for various gm models
