There are many, many zip codes (postcodes) for New York.

Each area has a prefix and then there are zones:

Example: in Manhattan (NYC - prefix 100) the lowest zip code is 10001 which is the midtown area around Madison Square Garden. An area in upper Manhattan is 10034.

In addition many large office buildings may have their own zip code, to help expedite delivery.

In the Bronx the prefix is 104, and then there are zones going from 52 to 75.
