Ireland does not have postal codes. Dublin has postal districts. Dublin 1 is one of those postal districts. An address in that postal district would end with Dublin 1 and on the next line Ireland, like this:

Joe Bloggs

1 Capel Street

Dublin 1

Ireland

Dublin does not have postal codes. It does have postal districts, ranging from Dublin 1 to Dublin 24. The lower the number, the more central it is. North of the river Liffey, around the O'Connell Street area is Dublin 1. South of the river Liffey around the Trinity College area is Dublin 2. If you have a specific address in mind check the web for the street and you will get the postal district. Also see the related link below. If it is for an internet form, use IE as the post code.

Ireland now has a system called Eircodes, like ZIP codes. They have these for individual address, rather than areas. In Dublin, there are also divisions of the city and suburbs going from Dublin 1 to Dublin 24. Lower numbers are closer to the centre of the city. Typically the odd numbers are on the northside of the city, with the river Liffey acting as a divider, and the even numbers are on the southside of the city. Parts of Dublin 10 are on the north of the Liffey however.

Well there will be no actual post code until late 2010 or early 2011 but Garmin (the sat-nav company) are offering codes (just Google: loc8 codes) some of these codes are being displayed around Dublin under some road signs but for now in Dublin 9 it remains Dublin 9 or D9 for short :D hope this helped :D

Dublin does not have any postal codes like ZIP codes. There are however divisions of the city and suburbs going from Dublin 1 to Dublin 24. Typically the odd numbers are on the northside of the city, with the river Liffey acting as a divider, and the even numbers are on the southside of the city. Parts of Dublin 10 are on the north of the Liffey however.

Ireland does not have postal codes. Dublin has postal districts ranging from Dublin 1 to Dublin 24. Dublin 1 and Dublin 2 are both in the city centre. Dublin 1 is on the north side of the river Liffey and Dublin 2 is on the south side. Other low numbers are also close to the city centre, with odd numbers on the north side and even numbers on the south side. So it depends on where exactly you are posting to as to what postal district you will use.
