Inground pool prices vary widely depending on the size of the pool, the materials used, and many other factors. However, for your typical backyard pool, you should expect to pay somewhere in the range of $20,000-40,000.

The big factors are really the size (height, width, and depth) and what you use to line the pool. Vinyl is the cheapest material, and gunite (concrete) and fiberglass are roughly the same. Fiberglass might be a little more expensive initially, but you usually make up the difference in lower maintenance costs.

However, there are just so many variables in inground pool cost that it's hard to give a meaningful answer. The best advice is to call around to contractors in your area. Just make sure you know what you want first.

The price of an inground pool varies depending on size and materials used and your location. The least expensive is the vinyl liner, then, the fiberglass, then the gunite. The least amount for the smallest fiberglass pool is $16,000 if it's purchased during off-season months which is the best time to have a pool installed because one can save up to $3,000. We were able to save about $3,000 when we purchased our fiberglass pool in the month of February and they installed it the first part of March. Couldn't swim til end of May but it was beautiful to look at and to sit next to was very relaxing on the weekends. My sister just had a medium sized vinyl liner inground pool installed in May and it cost her $24,000. My suggestion is to do some price comparisons in the parish or county in which you live in to get your best price. Also, before commiting to a company, ask them to give you the names and phone numbers of their last 3 customers as you'll want to know about the quality of their services. GOOD LUCK!!!

It varies a lot depending on the size and the materials you use. Plus there are extras like poolside finishing, diving boards, steps, etc. If we're talking about a normal family pool, $20K or more is a safe bet.

However, you could increase that number significantly with a larger pool, or one lined with concrete or fiberglass instead of vinyl (the cheapest option). Or you could install a water slide or tanning platform, or use fancy lighting, or need a fence installed. These things are all called extras, but it's rare that someone building an inground pool doesn't want a least a couple of them.

Fortunately, there are also ways to reduce the cost of an inground pool - namely, by doing some or all of the work yourself. If you know what you're doing, you could at least do a lot of the excavating. For more ambitious do-it-yourselfers, there are inground pool kits that provide you with all the materials you need to construct a pool. These run around $10K and up.

I dealt with shelley hill Swimming Pools in ny they are very good, you can look them up on Google and get an estimate.

If you want to put in an inground swimming pool, expect to pay at least $20,000 for most basic models. $20,000 to $30,000 is the typical cost. For pools that are very deep or large, or customized, prices can easily reach $50,000.
