In the US you have a right to be a racist. It is not a crime. However if you act on that against someone or something, you are committing a crime. The length of the sentence would depend on which act you committed and in what jurisdiction you committed it.

That being said, there are many discriminatory acts that a racist may do, which may constitute a crime.

It depends on what you do. If you are just a racist when you talk to people, then no. If you make everything public and shout it out, you would most likely go to jail or be fined by the police.
