first you need to open up the hood, take it into a body shop. they encounter this problem frequently in accidents and such. and then just replace the cable
This is a simple yet tedious task. One important thing to remember is to connect the motor end of existing cable to the steering end of the new cable. This will make it alot easier to guide replacement into place. but how do u remove the broken cable from the steering wheel, do u have to remove the whole unit from under the center consul
This would generally be caused by a broken wire within the video cable. Green is not the only variation of this problem. Replacing the cable will most likely fix the issue.
The throttle cable may be broken.
HOW DO I OPEN HOOD ON CAR WHEN CABLE IS BROKEN
You generally can't replace the guide without replacing the cable. If the transmission still shifts easily, you don't need to replace the cable immediately (as in, it is not an emergency) however you should plan to replace it as soon as you can. yes you do there is no getting around it, sorry
you may have a broken speedometer cable. you may have a broken speedometer cable.
It's not that hard, really...This really depends on the cable that you're replacing, but it would be a matter of removing the battery and just follow the path of the cable you're replacing. procedure:remove the grounded terminal first this is the negative on most cars newer than 1970 or so the hot side if you happen to get a wrench on a nut and touch the engine or frame with it you will end up with a molten or red hot wrench ( watch bands and rings too)reconnect the grounded terminal last
how to open hood with a broken cable on a 1994 ford explorer
If the gas pedal just falls to the floor, that would indicate:the cable connecting it to the throttle has brokencome disconnected from the throttlethe throttle body linkage has brokenThe spring on the throttle linkage has broken (this is one you should be hoping for!)If the cable is still properly connected, the problem then is going to be inside the throttle itself.
Acceleration Cable broken broken, you dump!
It depends on where its broke at. Is the cable broken at the mechanical part or is it broken before that?
you get the cable fixed then open it
If the cable isn't broken then you shouldn't have any issues opening the hood...
There is no Cable it is a speed sensor on the transmission
If the cable is broken you should replace it.
Broken wire, or broken end connector ? If the cable (wire) is still in tact, just grab the effected cable and pull the cable, while pulling on the door handle release. The cable will then pull the latch and open.
the whole cable or just the cable ends ??????????????
If you can find the cable under the hood, or if you can get to the cable where it's broken, a pair of vise-grips and a healthy pull should open it up.
Buy the Cable , then remove the screws that hold the broken cable and attach the new cable back.
If the cable is broken at the handle in the car, you may be able to grap the broken cable with a pair of locking pliers. If you can, pull it while you have someone pushing down on the hood. That will make it easier for it to unlatch. If it's broken where you can't reach it, oh boy, you may be able to grab the cable housing through the grill, cut it and grab the inner cable that way. Hope this helps. Good luck. 1
The throttle cable and shift cable on a 1984 40 HP Mercury outboard engine is installed by raising the access panel and locating the appropriate connectors. Each cable is then attached to the engine to control its speed and gearing.
There are 2 excellent write-ups on the procedures for replacing the shifter cable, one for floor shift and column shift each, at the Taurus Car Club site. See Related links below for more information.
purchase a replacement cable and install it. its not reccomended to repair a broken cable
You don't as it does not have a cable. You replace the speed sensor instead.
