Most Captains in the Armed Forces work hard to get their doctorite so they often prefer to be called 'Dr. or Doctor.' It depends on the individual. Examples: * Dr. Samuel Smith & Dr. Doris Smith * Doctors Samuel & Doris Smith If it is a formal invitation to a wedding or large event then it should read: * Dr./Captain Samuel Smith & Dr. Doris Smith
