Both the harassing individual and the employer can be held liable for sexual harassment and there are state and Federal Laws in place to ensure this. typically the individual would lose their job and there are often private lawsuits against them as well.

Compensatory damages. Payments for emotional pain and anguish.

Punitive damages. Payments to punish the employer.

Attorney costs and court fees.

Reinstatement or promotion for victim.

Both public and private employers with at least 15 employees must uphold federal law.
