2005 Chrysler town and country. there is a loud bumping noise that sounds like something is loose but I can find no loose components. Has anyone an educated guess?
I believe the 2005 is the same as the 2002. The upper strut mount has a large rubber mount inside the upper strut mount. The rubber gets old and detaches from the upper mount. If you put your finger inside the upper mount and touch the top of the strut shaft with your finger, rock the car back and fourth pretty vigorously and if the center shaft moves the upper strut mount needs to be replaced.
