He didn't try to kill them, but when he killed the puppy it was because it "looked like it was going to bite him, so he smacked it" He killed Curley's wife because he was petting her hair and she freaked out, so he shook her, breaking her neck in the process.
Lennie is afraid that george will yell at him and not let him tend to the rabbits.
my opinion is that it may foreshadow what happens to Curleys wife.
He thinks that George will get mad and not let him "tend no rabbits" (bless!)
He doesn't care much about the puppy, more about how angry George is going to be when he finds out. He flings the puppy across the room, showing very little care for it.
Lennie's puppy died because Lennie handled it too roughly. He's sad and he's angry at the puppy for dying. .
he said "Oh lord jesus it' a fire!"
The puppy dies from being mishandled by Lennie; in the same way that Lennie kills the mice and the girl.(On the above) Lennie doesn't kill the girl, just mistakes her dress as a furry animal because he has a mental disability. The girl looks at this for rape, but before Lennie can be tried for sexual misconduct, him a nd George run away from the town of Weed into the countryside.
George wants to give Lennie a pup so it attracts his attenion to something else, George thinks by doing this it will keep Lennie out of trouble. Also because George thinks a pup is bigger than a mouse so Lennie couldnt kill it easily.
They were too small to be away from their mother for too long. Also, Lennie doesn't know his own strength so he could easily kill a puppy without meaning to (which is what he ends up doing later in the novel).
Lennie saw a girl in a red dress. He touched it, she panicked and Lennie would not let go. The girl was scared and told people that she had been raped by Lennie, even though this was a lie. Lennie and George had to run away.
He was stroking the dog until it started to wriggle and bit him, so he 'bounced it' on the floor to tell it off, accidentally killing it.
Lennie only kills one puppy-the puppy that he received from Slim. He killed the puppy because, "I was jus' playin' with him...an' he made like he's gonna bite me...an' I made like I was gonna smack him...an'...an' I done it. An' then he was dead." (Steinbeck 87) Remember all those mice that Lennie killed in the past? It was the same thing here. The mice (or the puppy in this case) acted mean, if you will, so Lennie played back, but he didn't know is own strength. He also kills Curley's wife in the same way. She made him angry, and he was just trying to make her be quiet. (He shook her until her neck broke.) Lennie only killed 1 puppy; his own, which makes it all the more sad.
A fox can kill a puppy also a bear

George had to kill Lennie before Curley did. Lennie killed Curley's wife and Curley was looking to kill him. George knew Lennie was going to be killed and thought he would do it in a less violent manner.
Lennie was obsessed with soft objects. Curley's wife allowed Lennie to touch her hair and couldn't stop. Lennie was so strong he broke her neck.
GEORGE killed LENNIE because Curley was going to find him and shoot him anyway. George wanted Lennie's last few moments to be happy, so he decided to do it himself and tell him a story beforehand.
