It probably needs a tune up and the price varies depending on what part of the country you live. Call a couple of local garages and get estimates Good luckJoe

The Taurus SHO has a timing belt that must be replaced every 100,000 miles. All other Ford Taurus's have a chain that should last the life of the engine.

There is no formal measure such as a kilomile. However, there is no reason why the prefix kilo should not be used for miles. So the difference is a kilomile = 1000 miles - 1 km = 999.38 miles.

currently at 239,000+ and going strong! It rides and handles far better than our 2001 Ford Taurus with less than half the number of miles ... but then, considering the Ford Taurus that is not saying very much!

I don't know about the newer models but the top problem with them is the transaxle. I have two 98 year model taurus' and ones trans has gone out already at around 230,000 miles and the others trans is about to go out at around 140,000 miles.
