Normal Force is the Gradient of the Gravitational Scalar Energy,
Normal Force = - Del GmM/r.

Gravitational Force is GmM/r^2 and is a Scalar force. Normal Force is RGmM/r^3 where R is the radial vector.

f = µR

f is the frictional force that created when two surfaces move across each other.

µ is the coefficient of friction, which depends on the contacting materials.

R is the normal force exerted by one surface to another.

Therefore, greater the normal force, greater the frictional force is.

In other words, frictional force is directly proportional to the normal reaction.

(Note: frictional force is parallel to the surface, while normal force is perpendicular to the surface.) =D

What two factors that affect the amount of friction between two surfaces?

The magnitude of the frictional force is directly proprotional to the normal reaction between the two surfaces.(2)Magnitude of the frictional force is independent of shape and area of the surfaces

What are the two factors that affect the friction force between two?

normal force acting between them and surface roughness or frictional value that is mieu.

What determines the size of frictional force?

The size of the normal force and coefficient of friction determines the size of frictional force.

What determines the size of a frictional force?

The size of the normal force and coefficient of friction determines the size of frictional force.

What is the maximun coefficient of friction between two surfaces?

friction is the resisting force which oppose the relative motion of two body.cofficient of friction is the ratio of frictional force and normal force of body on surface.thus maximum cofficient of friction defiend as ratio of maximum frictional force or minimum normal force on the surface.

Why the friction between two surfaces increases when they are pressed harder?

Since the frictional force is directly proportional to the normal reaction When two surfaces are pressed harder normal reaction increases .'. Friction increases

Does the frictional force depends on the contact area?

The contact area hardly affects the frictional force. The frictional force depends on the normal force, and the coefficient of friction, which is a property you have to look up (or measure) for every pair of materials.

Is it possible for the frictional force between two surfaces that are extremely smooth and flat to increase?

Yes the application of a load normal to the plane of the smooth flat surfaces will increase the friction between the surfaces.

What determines the force of friction between two objects?

Because Ffric = Normal force * coefficient of friction, and Fnormal = mass*9.81m/s^2, the coefficient of friction for those 2 objects, which represents the relationship between their touching surfaces, and the objects masses, are the two things that determine frictional force. As you probably can tell, the higher a coefficient of friction, the harder it is to move an object. Higher masses also increase the difficulty of moving an object because it results in a higher frictional force.

A motorcyclist is able to ride on the vertical wall of a bowl shape track as shown does?

As the speed increases the centripetal acceleration increases. This this acceleration is caused by the normal force, then the normal force increases. Frictional force however remains equal to the weight. As the normal increases the maximum frictional force would increase. However, the amount of friction needed would still only be the rider's weight. In other words the frictional force would be less than the maximum available frictional force.
